Years ago, they gave up on many things. Clearly those things didn't give up on them. Older and wiser than in their youth a past comes waltzing in allowing them to hope. Despite all they thought they knew they find an unexpected chance to have all they ever wanted. Now all they have to do is battle life and a curse to obtain it.
